Running in Cold Weather: 3 Reasons Why its a Better Work out

Picking what weather to run in is very important when choosing how you want your body to perform. We have 3 reasons why colder weather running is proven to be better for you.

1. Your body prefers running in the cold as opposed to the heat. When running in a more humid temperature your body is not able to produce enough heat on its own in order for muscles to work properly. Also, running in humid climates is a lot more taxing on the body. This is the reason that most marathon races are ran in October and November.

2. Running in a colder climate can stop Seasonal Affect Disorder by getting outside and and bringing stress down. According to the journal of Environmental Science and Technology, people who run or exercise outside are less likely to suffer from depression and repeat those same workouts. This would allow people to have a healthy balance in their lives.

3.Running in colder climates slows down the metabolism. Running in the cold tricks the body and keeps the body at a healthy weight. Your body produces less sweat when running outside in colder weather but because your muscles work harder your body is able to maintain a healthy weight.
