Top Runners Out, CMU Finishes Six In The Top Ten

Rochester, Mich- It was a confident day for the CMU Chippewa’s with them taking the course next week in Louisville for Pre-Nationals on Oct 17. Last Friday, October 9th, the Chippewa's were off to the races against Oakland University in Rochester, MI. CMU finished with six runners in the top ten. Top runners, Nate Ghena, Silas Dekalita, Spencer Nousain and Joseph Emmanuel on the men’s side and Kirsten Olling, Kelly Schubert and Breanne Lesnar for the women were held out of the competition in preparation for Pre-Nationals. The Chippewa’s looked to the rest of the squad to compete on Friday.
The results were better than predicted as Chippewa men Luke Anderson, Mark Beckman, and Casey Voison all finished in the top ten, while on the women’s side Samantha Allmacher, Megan O’Neil, and Allyssa Dyer finished in the top ten as well.
It was a good experience for the young runners and it should help with their confidence going into the MAC meet. The well-rested Chippewa’s will certainly be ready to run this Saturday in Louisville.
